The first decision Andre Schubert had to make after replacing Lucien Favre as Borussia Monchengladbach coach in September was to name a new captain. Schubert was considered a temporary solution by the club, who were deeply disappointed and shocked by Favre's decision to quit after five Bundesliga defeats in a row.
