Arsenal looking to steal long-term Liverpool target

Follow the author on Twitter: @Attlee Mario Gotze has looked destined to make a move to Liverpool for quite some time now, but Arsene Wenger is apparently planning to hijack the move and bring him to the Emirates instead, as reported by the Daily Star (via German publication Suddeutsche Zeitung). Injuries, poor form, and an ill-suited style of football have seen the German international struggle for game time at Bayern Munich, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him leave the club this summer at all. As the report suggests, he's been linked with a host of other clubs, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus, and even a return to Borussia Dortmund on the cards. We're definitely in the race...
