£10m bid made by Arsenal to capitalise on Newcastle relegation

Follow the author on Twitter: @Attlee Arsene Wenger has long been a fan of Newcastle powerhouse Moussa Sissoko, and the Arsenal boss is apparently looking to capitalise on the Magpies' relegation woes by securing the French midfielder for a cut-price £10m, according to the Express. The 66-year-old has reportedly made an initial approach for his compatriot, hoping to rescue him from a year in the Championship. It seems incredibly unlikely that Sissoko – along with many of his other Newcastle teammates – will be staying at the club next season, as some were arguably already too good for the club even before they were relegated.
