The Spaniard hasn't been up to the standard to play for Arsenal for a while now, with his age really catching up with him. He had plenty to offer the team in other areas though, and after doing his coaching badges with Arsenal it seemed a real possibility that he'd become a coach at the club after his playing career ended.
