Arsenal News: Chiefs to open talks over new deal for Arsene Wenger

GETTY Arsene Wenger is in the final year of his Arsenal contract Express Sport understands Wenger is on the Three Lions’ shortlist to become their next manager after Roy Hodgson resigned in the wake of the shock 2-1 defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016 on Monday. It is widely expected Wenger will see out the final year of his contract at the Emirates. The FA however, are understood to be prepared to wait a year before appointing the Frenchman as the national team coach. But according to the Daily Mail, the Gunners intend to ensure Wenger goes nowhere anytime soon.
