Arsenal release Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini

Arsenal have officially released midfielders Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini after their contracts with the club expired. The three players were all in the last year of their Gunners deals, which expired on June 30, and the club confirmed to N FC that they are no longer on the books as of Friday. Arteta, who captained Arsenal over the last two seasons, is expected to take up a coaching role at Manchester City as part of new manager Pep Guardiola's backroom staff.
