Arsenal facing steep cost to sign defender before deadline day

GETTY Shkodran Mustafi is closing in on a move to Arsenal Recent reports suggested the Valencia defender is Emirates bound. Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in a defender, with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel both on the treatment table. It was originally thought that the Gunners would pay around £25m for the 24-year-old. However, according to the Daily Mirror, the north London outfit’s transfer chief, Dick Law, is in Spain trying to thrash out a deal.
