Arsenal transfer misery continues as Premier League rivals demand £25m for player they signed for just £8m

Arsenal have reportedly been told by West Bromwich Albion that they will have to pay £25m in order to sign defender Jonny Evans. The Gunners have been left frustrated this summer as they have been priced out of signing a number of individuals, with Evans now seemingly set to be added to that list. Arsene Wenger is under heavy pressure to bring in another central defender, with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel ruled out long-term with injuries. In turn, the Frenchman has thrown summer signing Rob Holding straight into the team, but will be aware that he needs more quality and experience next to Laurent Koscielny if Arsenal are to compete for trophies this season.
