Arsenal 'close to signing Everton target Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna'
Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of signing Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez, who was also a target for Everton. The Gunners have so far failed to increase their spending following the £30m capture of Granit Xhaka in May. A forward player seems to be a top priority for manager Arsene Wenger given that the club pursued Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, but they were ultimately unsuccessful in their attempts. Arsenal's Premier League rivals Everton were thought to be in talks with Perez over a deal, but according to Marca, the North London outfit have won the race after meeting the player's 20m (£17.1m) release clause.
