Arsenal legend: Some players have taken Arsene Wenger’s kindness for weakness

The former Gunners striker is widely regarded as one of the club’s greatest players and held the record for being the north London outfit’s all-time top goalscorer before he was overtaken by Thierry Henry. Wenger did a lot to revolutionise Arsenal when he was appointed the manager 20 years ago. The Frenchman has seen a lot of players come and go, but Wright feels the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and William Gallas overstepped the mark at times and took advantage of Wenger’s good nature. “In my view, players like [Emmanuel] Adebayor and [William] Gallas have taken liberties,” Wright wrote in his autobiography A Life in Football, as serialised by the Sun....
