FA chief executive: Arsene Wenger would fit the bill perfectly as England manager

The FA chief executive insists that whoever succeeds Allardyce, sacked on Tuesday after just 67 days in charge after being filmed by undercover reporters advising on how to get round rules on third-party player ownership, does not have to be English, would preferably be older, and have plenty of Premier League experience. Wenger’s Arsenal contract runs at out the end of this season, though he has a two-year extension as an option, and he has said he will make his decision on his future at the end of this campaign.
