Mesut Ozil scored his first ever professional hat-trick in the win
The Gunners started well and should have been ahead through Theo Walcott, but the England international opted to cross instead of shoot and Ludogorets were able to clear the ball. But they went ahead soon after when Alexis Sanchez produced a stunning chip over Vladislav Stoyanov and into the far corner from the edge of the box. At the other end David Ospina was called into action after Shkodran Mustafi misjudged a cross, and the goalkeeper came out fast to smother at the feet of Virgil Misidjan and avert the danger.
