Award organisers explain Arsenal duo’s Ballon d’Or snub and slam insipid Chelsea star
GETTY Chelsea star Eden Hazard was slammed by the Ballon d’Or organisers The 30 nominations were revealed yesterday for the coveted prize but there were some notable exceptions. Arsenal’s superstar duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez both missed out as did Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. France Football, who run the annual award for the world’s best player, claim Hazard’s 'insipid' displays for much of 2016 was the reason behind his omission.
