Arsenal set for disappointment in race for Roma star

Roma insist they have no intention of selling Arsenal target Kostas Manolas this summer. The Gunners were one of a number of clubs chasing Manolas during the summer when he was still at Olympiacos. But Roma won the race for his signature in August, agreeing an initial £10.3m fee with the Greek club. However, according to reports in Italy, clubs from across Europe have enquired about the 23-year-old's availability just seven months after his arrival in the capital. But Italian newspaper Il Tempo are reporting that Roma have rejected all enquiries and plan to hang on to the defender despite the interest from abroad.
