Wenger confirms ankle injury for Giroud

Arsene Wenger says Olivier Giroud suffered an ankle injury in Arsenal's 4-0 victory away to Swansea City on Saturday. The France international scored his fourth goal in as many Premier League games to break the deadlock in the first half but immediately signalled to the bench that he was in some discomfort. Giroud lasted until the 60 minute mark, when he was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Arsenal fans were also given a slight scare when Alexis Sanchez was taken off for Danny Welbeck with 11 minutes left. Wenger says Sanchez's withdrawal was simply a precaution but he confirmed that Giroud has taken a knock, though he would not speculate on the severity of the problem....
