Luis Suarez had agreed to join Arsenal in 2013, says Arsene Wenger
Arsenal made the famous £40million+£1 bid for the then Liverpool striker and thought they had a deal. But their offer was laughed off by John Henry who tweeted: “What are they smoking over there at the Emirates?” Suarez remained at Liverpool for another season before joining Barcelona, but Wenger has now insisted they had an agreement with the forward and he was keen to move to London. “He was very close (to signing for Arsenal)," Wenger told BeIN Sports.
