Liverpool and Manchester City romp into Champions League as sorry Arsenal miss out

GETTY Arsenal missed out on the Champions League after Man City and Liverpool won Arsenal needed to beat Everton and hope either Liverpool or Manchester City slipped up. But their rivals did not play to script as both Liverpool and City romped to respective victories. Liverpool thrashed relegated Middlesbrough 3-0 with goals from Gigi Wijnaldum, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana. And City made sure Wlater Mazzarri’s reign at Watford ended with a severe beating as they put five past goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes at Vicarage Road.
