On this day in History [9 April]: Arsenal drew 1-1 with the mighty Juventus in the Cup Winner Cup semi-final
On 9 April 1980, Arsenal drew 1-1 with European greats and Serie A side Juventus in the first leg of the Cup Winners Cup semi-final that was played at Highbury in London, England. Juventus took the lead just 11 minutes into the match after Antonio Cabrini converted a spot kick. It comes as no surprise that Cabrini was the goal scorer as he had won the Best Young Player Award at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. Despite several attempts to get the equalizer, Arsenal still had to go into half time a goal down.
