Arsene Wenger to hold 'showdown talks' with squad

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly planning to hold showdown talks with his players when they return from the international break. The Gunners have come under fire from fans for their poor start to the season, which saw them humiliated 4-0 at rivals Liverpool, one week on from their defeat at Stoke City. The club has also been criticised for its dealings in the transfer market, which saw just two new players join, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sold off to the Reds and no breakthrough made in contract talks with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
