Victory over German side FC Cologne in the first group game of the Europa League was an unfamiliar feeling for Arsenal, as was the atmosphere in the ground on a strange night at the Emirates. But it was a challenge they overcame thanks to two fabulous strikes from Sead Kolasinac and Alexis Sanchez and a goal from Hector Bellerin, even if none of that will be remembered on an evening when the action came off the field and the headlines ran with other incidents.
