Jack Wilshere in line for place in England's World Cup squad despite lack of action at Arsenal

Jack Wilshere is being lined up for a spot in England's World Cup squad. The Arsenal midfielder - once billed as one of football's brightest talents - has seen his career stall after a string of injury problems. He has not started a Premier League game for the Gunners since August 2016 and spent a mixed spell on loan at Bournemouth last season.  Wilshere is back at Arsenal and part of Arsene Wenger's first-team squad but, despite being full fit, his only action has come in the Europa League and EFL Cup this term.
