And in front of a sparse crowd at the Emirates Arsenal put on a show. Long-forgotten defender Mathieu Debuchy opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Theo Walcott slid home to double Arsenal’s lead. Jack Wilshere then fired in a well-take effort two minutes before half time. BATE defender Dzyanis Palyakow smashed into his own net after the break, and Olivier Giroud made it five when converting a spot-kick.
