Ex-Everton star posts controversial tweet following Merseyside derby

The Merseyside derby has always been more than a Premier League match, and sometimes current form plays no part in the result. Liverpool had been flying heading into the contest at Anfield having scored 15 goals in their last three games in all competitions. Everton had only just turned a corner with the arrival of Sam Allardyce as manager following a torrid run that dropped the club down towards the relegation zone.
