Arsenal launch new attempt to sign West Brom’s Jonny Evans but they face one challenge

The Gunners tried to lure the centre-back to the Emirates Stadium in the summer but were unable to meet the club’s valuation. Manchester City tabled an £18million bid last year, which was knocked back by chiefs at the Hawthorns, and they are set to challenge Arsenal to his signature again this time around. The report adds that City have also made an enquiry into Evans’ availability but no formal offer has been made. Evans has 18 months left on his current deal with West Brom but looks highly likely to leave the club this month.
