Midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that he "never gave up hope" of forcing his way back into the England squad. On Thursday, Gareth Southgate selected Wilshere in his group of players for the upcoming friendlies with the Netherlands and Italy, with the Arsenal midfielder expected to make his first international outing since Euro 2016.
