Arsenal transfer mistake admitted: 'He was telling me to stay... Now, I regret it'

Aliadiere spent two years in the Gunners youth ranks after moving to England from France’s prestigious Clairefontaine centre. And he made the step up to the first-team during the 2001/2 campaign, coming on as a teenage substitute for Thierry Henry in a 4-1 win over Fulham. Aliadiere went on to make 28 more Premier League appearances for Arsenal over the subsequent five years, as well as spending time on loan at Celtic, West Ham and Wolves. He opted to call time on his Arsenal career in 2007 though when Middlesbrough came calling for him.
