Arsenal FC news: Arsene Wenger ‘hopeful’ of Santi Cazorla return after injury nightmare

Arsene Wenger is hoping for good news from Santi Cazorla as he continues rehabilitation after his injury nightmare, but admits he is unsure over the midfielder’s future. Cazorla, 33, who has not played in 18 months since suffering an ankle injury which could have ended his career and completely changed his life. What was at first serious Achilles tendon injury almost led the midfielder having his foot amputated last year, after contracting a gangrenous infection from surgery. His condition has stabilised since then and he is now progressing well in rehab.
