Arsenal FC transfer news: Gunners make offer for Roma star Cengiz Under, but fall way short of Serie A side's valuation

Arsenal have lodged a £26 million bid for Roma prodigy Cengiz Under – but it falls way below the Serie A club's valuation. The 20-year-old has impressed during his first season in Rome following a £13 million move from Basaksehir last summer. As such, Roma are said to have slapped a £44 million price tag on the midfielder amid interest from both Arsenal and Monaco. And, according to Tuttomercato, both interested parties have lodged formal bids, although neither have been enough to tempt Roma into selling. It has been reported that Monaco offered £30.7 million while Arsenal, who are expected to have a busy transfer window following the departure of Arsene Wenger, bid £26 million....
