Opinion: Dropping Perez deal and landing 41-goal striker would be West Ham's smartest move

West Ham United should consider walking away from a deal to sign Arsenal striker Lucas Perez and pursue his teammate Danny Welbeck instead after the London Evening Standard reported that the club are willing to sell him. What's the word? According to BBC Sport, the East London outfit are closing in on the signature of Perez. The Spaniard has struggled to earn regular game time at the Emirates since his 2016 switch from Deportivo La Coruna. In fact, he has only made 11 Premier League appearances for the Gunners and has scored just once.
