Arsenal, Everton 'among clubs interested in David Bates'

Arsenal and Everton are reportedly among a number of clubs interested in signing Hamburg defender David Bates. Bates only joined Hamburg on a free transfer from Rangers this summer, but his performances for the German outfit have drawn the attention of a number of clubs across Europe. The Mirror reports that a host of Premier League teams have sent scouts to watch him in the Bundesliga 2 this season, including Arsenal and Everton. The likes of Leicester City, Watford and Southampton are also understood to be tracking the 22-year-old's progress ahead of a possible January move.
