Lacazette to miss Europa League last-16 clash after UEFA ban

France striker Alexandre Lacazette will miss Arsenal’s Europa League last-16 fixtures with Rennes after being given an additional two-match ban by UEFA for his dismissal at BATE Borisov. Lacazette has been punished for his direct red card in the February 14 last-32 first leg loss in Belarus, given a three-match ban, but as he missed Thursday night’s second leg his absence is for a further two matches. After having a second-half equaliser correctly ruled out for offside, Lacazette was sent off for swinging an elbow in frustration towards Aleksandar Filipovic with five minutes remaining.
