Beware the repercussions of the big deal

For those of you who are highly interested in Arsenal's wage budget, the good news is that we've taken a considerable chunk off it already this summer. The departures of Petr Cech (£100,000), Aaron Ramsey (£100,000), Danny Welbeck (£100,000), and Stephan Lichtsteiner (£60,000) have handed back a Mesut Ozil's weekly salary-sized lump for the club to play around with. Imagine if they got another Mesut Ozil's weekly salary-sized lump in the shape of Mesut Ozil's salary off the books, that would be a saving of over £700,000 a week (that's £36m a year, btw).
