Africa Cup of Nations: Iwobi off to a flying start

One of our stars was in Africa Cup of Nations action over the weekend. Scroll down to find out how they got on: Alex Iwobi played the full 90 minutes of Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Burundi. Our Hale End graduate started on the left-hand side of a free-flowing front line as the Super Eagles got off to a flying start in Egypt. In the end it took a moment of magic from Ola Aina to break the deadlock. The Torino full back collected the ball on the left-hand side and found Odion Ighalo with an inch-perfect backheel, allowing the former Watford striker to fire home.   Iwobi’s Nigeria and Mohamed Elneny’s Egypt will be in action on Wednesday.
