AFCON 2019: Iwobi suffers semi-final heartbreak
The semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations took place on Sunday. Read on to find out who was involved: Despite a spirited performance, Alex Iwobi was unable to prevent Nigeria from slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Algeria on Sunday night. An own goal from William Troost-Ekong handed Algeria a first-half lead, but the Super Eagles bounced back with Odion Ighalo converting from the spot in the 72nd minute. The game looked set for extra time.
