Arsenal 7-0 Everton (2005) Arsenal capped an impressive season at Highbury in their final home game of the 2004/05 season, recording a devastating 7-0 victory over Everton – who’d go on to finish the season in fourth. Six different players scored: Robin van Persie, Robert Pires (two), Patrick Vieira, Edu, Dennis Bergkamp and even Mathieu Flamini. The Gunners finished second, some 12 points behind champs Manchester United, while Everton secured a Champions League play-off spot despite the thrashing. Not bad going considering the departure of Wayne Rooney in summer 2004, months after they’d finished 17th....
