Unai Emery opens up on why Mesut Ozil’s bad attitude cost him Arsenal captaincy

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery has questioned the commitment and attitude of Mesut Ozil during his time in charge. The Spaniard claims that the midfielder could have been put forward as a possible Gunners captain had the players decided against it. Emery was sacked as Arsenal boss in November after a poor run of form culminated in a home defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. The former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain boss had problems with Ozil for much of his tenure, regularly leaving the German on the bench in games.
