Kenny Sansom speaks for first time in hospital amid permanent brain damage fears

Ex-England star Kenny Sansom has spoken in hospital for the first time since he was attacked, according to reports. The former Arsenal and Crystal Palace defender was left fighting for his life last month after falling and hitting his head during a disagreement. But according to The Sun, he’s now spoken to his family at his bedside. He told family holding a six-week hospital vigil: “I’m in a bad way.” The 61-year-old has been visited by former team-mates during his recovery but The Sun say some of his pals fear he has suffered permanent brain damage.
