Premier League to take £1billion hit in wake of coronavirus pandemic

Premier League clubs are set to lose a collective £1billion as a result of the coronavirus pandemic - and £500million of it will be lost forever. The English top flight is restarting next week after a three-month layoff, with Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal welcoming it back on Wednesday 17 June. Teams have already been forced to pay back £330million in revenue to broadcasters, nonetheless, and will miss out on even more capital with games being played behind closed doors for the foreseeable future. And according to the Deloitte Sports Business Group’s Annual Review of Football Finance for 2020, they will also be dealt an immediate £1billion hit....
