Arsenal's stance in Thomas Partey transfer race as Atletico Madrid may lower fee

Arsenal target Thomas Partey may be available this summer with Atletico Madrid reportedly ready to let the midfielder leave at a cut price. Ghanian midfielder Partey has been linked with a move to Arsenal numerous times, but the Gunners have never stumped up the player’s £44.8m release clause. However, Spanish radio show Cadena COPE are now reporting that the cash-strapped North London side may not have to shell out quite as much for the 27-year-old. It’s thought that due to the coronavirus postponements, Atletico are looking to free up some cash this summer to allow Diego Simeone to manoeuvre in the transfer market.
