Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has refused to back down in his spat with Matteo Guendouzi. The Spanish boss decided to leave the French youth international out of his side’s Premier League win over Southampton at the weekend after his actions in their defeat to Brighton were criticised. The 21-year-old escaped sanction from the referee after appearing to grab Neal Maupay around the neck during that fixture, and reports have subsequently emerged that suggest he wants to leave north London when the transfer window reopens.
