Mikel Arteta's comments to club doctor after convincing him to snub Liverpool

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told club doctor Gary O’Driscoll to “believe in me” after the Gunners won the FA Cup. O’Driscoll appeared to be on his way out of the Emirates earlier this year with Liverpool believed to be his next destination. The former Ireland rugby union medic was set to succeed Reds doctor Andrew Massey, who left Anfield to become medical director at FIFA on March 1. Arsenal had even been advertising for a new club doctor and conducting interviews, before O’Driscoll changed his mind about leaving. Reports suggested Arteta and Arsenal technical director Edu helped sway O’Driscoll with the Gunners rewarding him with an FA Cup victory. Mikel Arteta could be heard...
