Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has already identified Ozil’s long-term replacement

Mikel Arteta already looks to have earmarked Emile Smith Rowe as Mesut Ozil’s long-term replacement. Ozil still has 12 months left to run on his £350,000-a-week Arsenal contract and intends to see out his deal. It’s left Arteta in a difficult position with the German not playing since early March and he was on holiday in Turkey during the FA Cup final after the Spaniard told him he would not be part of his match day squad. Unless things drastically changes during pre-season, Ozil looks unlikely to play a big part in Arteta’s plans next season.
