Arsenal offer Mesut Ozil pay off and subsidy options in bid to clear him out

Arsenal have reportedly offered to pay off the remainder of Mesut Ozil 's bumper contract or to help subsidise his wages if he leaves the club. Ozil is the club's highest earner with a £350,000-a-week deal which does not expire for another year and the Gunners are desperate to get his salary off their wage bill. Arsenal are looking to make a number of signings this summer and have made 55 redundancies due to the financial effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Ozil does not want to leave the club and is content to sit tight until his contract expires but Arsenal are looking to reach a compromise with the 31-year-old.
