Arsenal star Sokratis was chased by Premier League side after Mikel Arteta snub
Arsenal outcast Sokratis Papastathopoulos could have moved to Everton this summer before they switched attention to Ben Godfrey. The Toffees are closing in on a deal for the Norwich centre-back in the final days of the transfer window. But according to Greek journalist Antonis Tsirakis, Everton actually reached out to try and secure a deal for Sokratis after he was told he wasn't in Mikel Arteta's plans. 'It seems that Everton closes in the stoppers with Ben Godfrey,' he tweeted. 'What I do know is that contacts were made with Socrates Papastathopoulos as well. The latter has been informed that he is not counted at Arsenal. (Image: Getty Images) Read More Related Articles Daily Star...
