Arsenal fans heartbroken as Gunnersauras sacked after 27 years due to Covid cuts

Arsenal have axed their mascot Gunnersaurus - ending Jerry Quy’s 27-year stint in the role. The long-term club servant has been let go as part of Arsenal’s streamlining process. Arsenal announced 55 staff members were made redundant earlier in the summer due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Quy’s role was only part-term so was not included among those departures. But he is another casualty in the cost-cutting process in north London. With no supporters at the ground due to games continuing to take place behind closed doors, Gunnersauras has little use at present.
