Ozil offers to pay Gunnersaurus’ salary in heartfelt plea so Arsenal keep mascot

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has offered to pay Gunnersaurus’ salary to enable the mascot to remain at the club. The mascot was ‘sacked’ on Monday with the man inside the costume, Jerry Quy, having been let go after spending 27 years with the club. But Ozil has generously offered to pay Quy’s wages to allow the much-loved cuddly T-rex to stay at the Emirates. Ozil wrote on Instagram: “I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous & loyal mascot @officialgunnersaurus and integral part of our club was being made redundant after 27 years. “As such, I’m offering to reimburse @Arsenal with the full salary of our big green guy as long as I will be an Arsenal player so Jerry can continue...
