Mesut Ozil to demand £13million from Arsenal to rip up £350k-a-week contract

Mesut Ozil won’t be leaving Arsenal quietly before the end of the season. The World Cup winning midfielder is nowhere near the plans of Mikel Arteta at the Emirates and was even left out of their squad to feature in the Europa League earlier this week. The 31-year-old refused to take a pay cut on his wages of around £350,000-a-week earlier this year following the pause in the Premier League season, and could have annoyed the club by offering to pay the wages of their sacked mascot. The Gunners might now been keen to pay off the rest of his contact, which is due to expire in the summer, in order to keep the spirit up in Arteta’s playing squad after a good start to the season.
