Mikel Arteta remains open to bringing Mesut Ozil back into his Arsenal plans. The German midfielder has slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates and risked further discontent by publicly stating that he would be willing to pay the wages of sacked mascot Gunnersaurus. The World Cup winning midfielder was even left out of their squad to feature in the Europa League group stages, despite his mammoth wages of £350,000-a-week.
