Mesut Ozil 'receives £8m Arsenal loyalty bonus'

Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil reportedly received an £8m loyalty bonus from the club at the end of September. The 31-year-old has not played for the Gunners since March and has been told that he does not feature in manager Mikel Arteta's plans going forward. Arsenal tried to offload him during the summer window in order to shift his mammoth £350,000-a-week wages, only for Ozil to turn down any possible exit routes. The midfielder is now in the final year of his lucrative contract, and The Athletic reports that the deal he signed in 2018 included a loyalty bonus this summer to convince him to stay for the entirety.
