Mesut Ozil is “yesterday’s news” who will “not play for Arsenal again”, according to club legend Sol Campbell. The German is set to be forced into exile at the Gunners and get left out of Mikel Arteta’s 25-man squad for the Premier League. Despite earning a £26m wage packet this season, Ozil has not played for the club since lockdown. The Gunners have faced criticism, though, for their treatment of the midfielder as legendary boss Arsene Wenger described it as a “waste”. But Campbell, who won two league titles in nearly 200 appearances for the north London side, believes fans have seen the last of the 32-year-old.
